*Media Advisory* Maynard Fire Invites Community to Open House
MAYNARD — Chief Anthony Stowers would like to invite residents to attend the Maynard Fire Department’s annual open house next month.
“We are excited to welcome the community back into the fire station to get to know our firefighters and learn about our department,” Chief Stowers said. “We encourage all residents to stop by to meet some of their public safety officials.”
WHAT:
The event is designed to bring the community to the fire station to meet and mingle with firefighters in a relaxed atmosphere.
Fire officials will have an abundance of handouts for all age groups in town about fire safety, carbon monoxide alarms, exit drills and more. Coloring books will be available for children.
A bounce house will be step up, along with a replica wooden fire house that children can use a small fire hose to extinguish fake flames. Young residents can also put on a firefighter’s jacket to try and complete an obstacle course. Sparky the Fire Dog will be in attendance and guests can take turns putting their face in a fire-themed photo cutout board.
All the fire trucks (unless on a call) will be out and on display for children to go on and explore. Firefighters will also be available to answer questions.
Papa Gino’s will sponsor the event by providing free pizza to guests.
