Chelmsford Police Arrest Father, Daughter as Alleged Heroin Dealers

Lengthy Investigation Ends with Arrests and Seizure of Drugs, Cash, and Vehicle

CHELMSFORD — Police Chief James Murphy announces that the Chelmsford Police Department this morning served a search warrant for a residential trailer on Littleton Road, which has resulted in the arrest of two alleged dug dealers and a sizable heroin seizure.

WILLIAM MCINNIS, age 44 and his daughter, KAILENE MCINNIS, age 21, have been charged with heroin possession with intent to distribute. A third suspect will be summonsed to court for being knowingly present where heroin is stored.

“Today, we saw the result of hard work and good policing by Chelmsford detectives, which shut down a family business of dealing heroin,” Chief Murphy said. “Heroin is one of the worst evils in modern society, and we will continue to pursue these cases in an aggressive manner.”

Police received information from various sources that drugs were being sold out of the trailer, located at the Chelmsford Commons trailer park. An investigation was opened, and police determined that three people living at the residence were allegedly selling heroin to numerous buyers.

As a result of the investigation, police early this morning served a search warrant at 270 Littleton Road.

Because the investigation revealed that one of the occupants of the home may possess a firearm and other weapons and due to the presence of a potentially viscous dog in the home, the Chelmsford Police Department requested the assistance of the NEMLEC S.W.A.T. Team in executing the search warrant.

The NEMLEC S.W.A.T. Team is made up of officers from communities around the region who team up to form a single specialized unit that is activated during emergencies or high-risk situations like the warrant execution in Chelmsford today.

The warrant was served without incident, and no one was hurt.

Once the scene was deemed safe, CPD Detectives entered and began searching. As a result of today’s search, a significant quantity of heroin and several different types of pills, including the drug suboxone, were found and recovered. The drugs were kept in individual portions, consistent with heroin that is being sold or distributed.

Additionally, police seized $8,647 in cash and money orders. Police found evidence of the drug distribution operation, including log sheets, cell phones, and scales.

Chelmsford Police will seek forfeiture of the cash as proceeds from the sale of drugs and police will attempt to seize a 2000 Chevy Impala that was allegedly used as a method of distributing heroin.

Based on the investigation and the items seized pursuant to the Search Warrant, police have issued the following charges against the occupants:

WILLIAM MCINNIS was arrested and charged with Possession of a Class A Substance with Intent to Distribute and Conspiracy to Violate Drug Laws

KAILENE MCINNIS was arrested and charged with Possession of a Class A Substance with Intent to Distribute and Conspiracy to Violate Drug Laws

PATRICIA BARBAROSSA is charged with Being Knowingly Present Where Heroin is Kept, a misdemeanor. She will be summonsed to court at a later date.
