RANDOLPH — Chief Anthony Marag and the Randolph Police Department thank the public and their law enforcement partners for helping to quickly locate a lost 6-year-old child who was reported missing on Bittersweet Lane Monday morning.
On Monday, July 27, at 11:57 a.m., Randolph Police were alerted to a missing nonverbal and non-responsive child last seen on Bittersweet Lane.
Randolph Police launched a massive search, aided by multiple local, regional and state law enforcement agencies.
During a thorough neighborhood canvas, on the same street where the boy was last seen, Randolph Police Detective Trevor Clark noticed water running down a driveway. He followed the trail to an unoccupied home, where he found the child safe inside. The child had turned on a sink that overflowed.
The child was safe and appeared uninjured.
“First, I’d like to commend Detective Trevor Clark, who’s keen observation skills helped locate this child safely and quickly,” said Chief Marag. “We’re all very relieved this story had a very happy ending.”
Mutual aid partners included drones, K-9 Officers and a Bike Unit from the Metropolitan Law Enforcement Council (METRO-LEC) Special Response Team (SRT) and Criminal Investigation Division (CID); Massachusetts State Police Troop H, SRT and Air Wing; Randolph Fire Department; and Braintree Police Department’s Drone Unit.
“On behalf of the Randolph Police Department and our community, I’d also like to thank our mutual aid partners for their lightning-fast response,” said Chief Marag. “Their help is very much appreciated by the entire Randolph community.”
A Randolph Fire Ambulance transported the child to a local hospital for observation.
