WHEN:

Tuesday, Aug. 6, from 5-8 p.m.

Ashley Park, Rivet Street, New Bedford

WHAT:

Held on the first Tuesday in August, National Night Out is a nationwide campaign designed to strengthen the relationship between police and fire officials and residents in order to foster partnerships and improve safety in neighborhoods.

National Night Out is family-friendly and free to attend.

Attendees will be able to enjoy music, activities, arts and crafts, face painting, raffles and more. The annual police and fire department tug of war competition will also take place during the event.

Food and beverages will be provided while supplies last.

“This is a great opportunity to bring first responders and residents together in a fun and relaxed environment,” Chief Levesque said. “We’re looking forward to this event as another way to meet and form positive relationships with the members of the community we serve.”
