Stoneham Police to Summons Teen Following Assault

STONEHAM — Chief James McIntyre reports that the Stoneham Police Department filed an application for a complaint against a juvenile after he allegedly threw an object out of a vehicle window and struck a person last week.

A JUVENILE MALE, AGE 17, OF WAKEFIELD will be summonsed to Lowell Juvenile Court for a clerk magistrates hearing.

On Wednesday, July 24, at approximately 9:20 p.m., Stoneham Police responded to a home on Valley Road for a report of an assault. Upon arrival, a responding officer initiated an on-scene investigation through which he determined that the male victim had been struck in the head by a soda bottle thrown from inside a vehicle after the occupants had summoned him by name. The victim declined medical treatment.

Through a subsequent investigation, Stoneham Police identified the registered owner of the vehicle involved in the incident and determined that the JUVENILE MALE was in possession of the vehicle at the time the incident occurred. As a result of the investigation, the JUVENILE MALE will be issued a summons to appear in Lowell Juvenile Court.
