LITTLETON — Four Littleton High School seniors were recently named Commended Students as part of the 2027 National Merit Scholarship Program.
Seniors Suma Bhiravarasa, Nathan Li, Maxwell Thompson and Lucas Wright are among approximately 34,000 students nationwide being recognized as Commended Students by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC) for their academic achievements.
The Commended Students were selected from a group of more than 1.2 million students in the 2027 National Merit Scholarship Program competition. Students entered the contest by taking the 2025 Preliminary SAT, which serves as the National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.
According to the NMSC, Commended Students are among the top 50,000 high scorers who took the qualifying test for the 2027 competition. Recognized students demonstrate outstanding achievement and academic potential.
The seniors will receive letters of commendation from the NMSC and Littleton High School for their academic achievements.
“We are so proud of these four seniors who represent Littleton High School and have demonstrated such academic excellence,” said Principal Dr. John Harrington. “All of the hard work that Suma, Nathan, Maxwell and Lucas have put into their academics has paid off, and we are thrilled to see them recognized for their dedication to their studies.”
“Having four students recognized through the National Merit Scholarship Program is a great source of pride for the Littleton school community,” said Superintendent Dr. Michael Caira. “Congratulations to our Commended Students. We cannot wait to see all they achieve throughout their senior year and beyond.”
