EAST PENNSBORO TOWNSHIP — Chief William Diehl welcomes Patrol Officer David D. Dietrich as the East Pennsboro Township Police Department’s newest recruit. His first day of service was June 28.
“We all extend a warm welcome to Officer David Dietrich as he joins the Department,” said Chief Diehl. “As an Army National Guard veteran, Officer Dietrich demonstrated his dedication to the nation. Now he has taken an oath to serve and protect East Pennsboro Township. If you see him on patrol, please join me in welcoming Officer Dietrich to the community.”
Officer Dietrich attended the Harrisburg Area Community College (HACC) 128th Police Academy from Jan. 12 through June 26.
He started his first day on the street Sunday, June 28, embarking on the Department’s minimum 12-week Field Training program. Officer Dietrich has been assigned to several Field Training Officers (FTOs) to continue various stages of introductory on-the-job training.
Dietrich served with the Army National Guard for six years, including a tour of combat deployment in Kenya. He earned several service awards, including two U.S. Army Commendation Medals (ARCOM), awarded for meritorious service, acts of heroism and significant achievement.
