NORFOLK, Va. — A fun time for a good cause is coming to Norfolk, Virginia, this weekend when the L.E.A.D. Fest Carnival comes to the city.

Featuring rides, games, food and more, the L.E.A.D. Fest Carnival will be held at the Norfolk Premium Outlets, located at 1600 Premium Outlets Boulevard in Norfolk, bringing family-friendly entertainment to the community from Friday, June 12, through Sunday, June 21.

The Norfolk L.E.A.D. Fest Carnival will be open from 5 to 11 p.m. on Monday through Friday, and 3 to 11 pm. on Saturdays and Sundays.

Carnival admission is $5. After 8 p.m., all minors must be accompanied by an adult age 21 or older. No backpacks are allowed into the carnival; and no face coverings are allowed (religious exemptions provided). Children must be 36 inches tall to go on most of the rides.

“Dollar Ride Night” is being held as part of the Norfolk L.E.A.D. Fest Carnival on Monday, June 15. During “Dollar Ride Night,” all ride tickets are $1 (sold in packs of 10), in addition to the $5 that is still required for carnival admission.

Proceeds from the carnival will benefit L.E.A.D. and its drug and violence prevention mission, including school-based prevention education programs taught by law enforcement officers.

L.E.A.D. offers an evidence-based drug and violence prevention program that uses fun and interactive lessons to help young people build confidence and make healthy life choices. The program is built on the Botvin LifeSkills® Training curriculum, through which students learn goal-setting, responsible decision-making and emotional management skills.

“Our L.E.A.D. Fest Carnival in Norfolk is a wonderful opportunity for families from around the region to enjoy great entertainment while making a real difference for local students,” said Nick DeMauro, Executive Director and CEO of L.E.A.D. “Every dollar raised goes directly toward supporting the law enforcement officers who teach our evidence-based prevention curriculum right here in Virginia and across the nation.”
