DOVER — The Dover School District has been recognized nationally for significant improvement in math and reading scores across all schools.
Dover is the only district in New Hampshire to achieve the Education Scorecard national honor in both subject areas.
Dover has strived to maintain and grow curriculum across the district. It has championed new initiatives including the implementation of a districtwide strategy centered on collaborative professional learning communities (PLCs), a strong Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS), adoption of evidence-based curriculum, and data-informed instruction.
The district also utilizes assessment data, maintains SMART goals, ensures all instructional materials are evidence-based, and align with state curriculum frameworks as part of the curriculum.
The district has delivered additional professional development to maintain support of both teachers and students and added new staff positions to support both teachers and students, including an MTSS Director.
The district also revamped its strategic plan, and reports progress regularly to the school community, ensuring accountability.
The Education Scorecard, a national research initiative led by researchers from Harvard University, Stanford University and Dartmouth College, and is considered one of the nation’s most comprehensive district-level analyses of academic achievement and post-academic recovery.
“I am extremely proud of our district for surpassing expectations and being nationally recognized,” said Superintendent Christine Boston. “Our staff goes above and beyond daily to provide the best education and support for our students while also maintaining state standards. By investing in collaborative professional learning, strong instructional practices, and a comprehensive MTSS framework, we’ve created conditions where data drives decisions so that every student receives the support they need to succeed.”
