MATTAPOISETT — The Old Rochester Regional Early Childhood Office and the Old Rochester Regional High School (ORRHS) Early Childhood Program invite community members to their Touch-a-Truck event and Early Childhood Community Day.
Friends and family are encouraged to visit ORRHS on Saturday, May 16, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., for a day of outdoor fun and community.
The afternoon will include a Scholastic book fair, hands-on activities, family giveaways, Touch-a-Truck and more. Snacks and treats will be available for purchase, and there will be food trucks supporting the Old Rochester Regional Junior High PTSO Fundraiser.
At the Touch-a-Truck station, children can explore their favorite vehicles and meet the people who operate them. Participating vehicles may include fire trucks, police cars, construction vehicles, school buses and more.
While families enjoy the fun, they will have the opportunity to visit booths and learn about summer activity information, as well as local early childhood and community resource providers.
Admission is free and the rain date is Sunday, May 17.
“We are looking forward to the Early Childhood Program’s Touch-a-Truck and Early Childhood Community Day,” said Superintendent Michael S. Nelson. “This event is a wonderful opportunity for families to enjoy activities and food, learn about community resources and meet some members of the Early Childhood Program. We hope to see our Old Rochester community on Saturday for an afternoon of fun.”
Students from ORRHS’s Early Childhood Program organized the event, with support from Cape Cod 5 Bank. Additional community partners include Cape Cod Express, Sadie Creek Farm, Yard Boss, Tri-Town Police Departments, Amaral Bus Co., Marc’s Auto and the Department of Early Education and Care.
“The Early Childhood Program wishes to thank Cape Cod 5 Bank and our community partners for supporting this event,” said Early Childhood Coordinator Doreen Lopes. “Our students have been working hard to ensure that this day is memorable for the whole community, and they are excited to see families enjoy the activities they have planned.”
