STOW — Chief Barry Evers reports that the Stow Fire Department responded to the Department of Fire Services Firefighting Academy facility Tuesday morning after an individual suffered from a serious fall.
On Tuesday, April 7, at about 9:05 a.m., Stow Fire was dispatched to the Massachusetts Department of Fire Services Stow campus for report of an individual who had been injured in a fall.
Responding crews located and began providing medical assistance to the individual, who suffered very serious injuries. Crews called two additional Advanced Life Support (ALS) ambulance units to the scene to assist.
Crews attempted to call a medical helicopter to transport the individual to the hospital, but helicopters were not flying due to weather conditions. A flight transport crew arrived on scene and transported the individual to UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester for treatment of their injuries.
