Ipswich Police Arrest and Charge Two Juveniles Following Alleged Stabbing

IPSWICH — Chief Paul Nikas reports that the Ipswich Police Department arrested two juveniles in connection with an alleged stabbing that occurred Monday evening.

On Monday, Feb. 2, at about 5:55 p.m., Ipswich Police responded to Burleigh Avenue for reports of a group of people fighting, with one individual having been stabbed.

The first officer to arrive on scene located the victim and immediately provided medical aid. The victim was transported to an area hospital by Action Ambulance for treatment of serious injuries.

Additional units immediately began searching the area and located two suspects, both juveniles, who were taken into custody.

One juvenile is being charged with: 

  • Attempted Murder 
  • Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon on a Person Over 60
  • Assault with a Dangerous Weapon

The second juvenile is being charged with: 

  • Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon on a Person Over 60

Both juveniles are due to be arraigned in Lawrence Juvenile Court on Tuesday.

This is an active and ongoing investigation.

These are allegations. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
