GLOUCESTER — Police Chief Edward Conley and Fire Chief Eric Smith report that Gloucester Police and Fire Departments responded to a fatal crash involving a pedestrian Tuesday morning.
On Tuesday, Dec. 2, at about 5:40 a.m., Gloucester Police and Fire were dispatched to Rogers Street, near the intersection with Manuel F. Lewis Street, for reports that a pedestrian had been struck by a motor vehicle.
Upon arrival at the scene, crews found a pedestrian suffering from serious injuries.
The pedestrian was treated at the scene and transported by Gloucester Fire Department Ambulance and Engine crews. At 6:25 a.m., the man, later identified as Randy Streeter, 57, of Rockport, was pronounced dead at Addison Gilbert Hospital.
The driver of a pickup truck involved in the crash remained on scene and cooperated with Gloucester Police and Massachusetts State Police.
The Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section responded to the scene. The incident remains under investigation by Massachusetts State Police.
