Manchester-by-the-Sea Police Department Responds to Report of Car in Water

MANCHESTER-BY-THE-SEA — Lt. Mark McCoy reports that the Manchester-by-the-Sea Police Department responded to a report of a car in the water on Wednesday morning.

On Tuesday, Oct. 15, at about 4:20 a.m., Manchester-by-the-Sea Police responded to reports of a car in the water at Singing Beach, 121 Beach St. Upon arrival, first-responding officers learned that the driver and other occupant had escaped the vehicle.

Neither person was injured.

Manchester-by-the-Sea Police remain on scene, as Tally’s Towing is attempting to remove the vehicle from the water. The beach is expected to remain open.

The incident remains under investigation by the Manchester-by-the-Sea Police Department.
