RAYNHAM — Fire Chief Bryan LaCivita reports that the Raynham Fire Department and mutual aid partners extinguished a fire in a mobile home park on Friday night and rescued two pet dogs.

On Friday, Sept. 19, at 10:29 p.m., while the Raynham Fire Department was already responding to three simultaneous medical calls, firefighters were called to 1549 Broadway, Lot 54, for a report of a structure fire with people trapped inside.

Car 2 and Engine 4 arrived at the scene to find a mobile home heavily involved with fire. Firefighters quickly determined that the home’s occupants were not inside, and rescued two pet dogs from a rear bedroom.

Firefighters then quickly knocked down the flames in the mobile home, and also knocked down fire extension to a second mobile home in Lot 53 before beginning overhaul of the damaged mobile homes.

The home in Lot 54 was a total loss. There were no reported injuries.

Firefighters from West Bridgewater, Bridgewater and Easton provided mutual aid at the scene. Middleborough firefighters covered Raynham stations, and Lakeville provided a mutual aid ambulance.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Raynham Fire Department and the State Police Fire and Explosion Investigation Unit attached to the State Fire Marshal’s Office.
