Ludlow Department of Public Works Issues Parking Ban During Paving Project; Work Begins Monday, Sept. 22

LUDLOW– The Town of Ludlow Department of Public Works shares that a parking ban will be in effect during the Town’s upcoming paving project.

The paving project is scheduled to begin on Monday, Sept. 22, at 7 a.m. Affected streets include: State Street (up to Oak Ridge Street), Meadow Street, Hampden Street, Berkshire Street, Bristol Street, Duke Street, Essex Street, Franklin Street, Worcester Street, and Norwood Street.

The parking ban will be in effect during road work each day from 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Traffic will flow as normal during construction. After 4:30 p.m., street parking will be reopened to the public for the night.

The project will take place in three phases. Phase 1 will include milling, Phase 2 will involve structural adjustments, and Phase 3 will involve repaving roads.

Traffic will be flowing as normal, and after 4:30 p.m., street parking will reopen to the public. The project is expected to last about a week and a half to two weeks.

The Ludlow Senior Center, which is located at 228 State St., will be open during normal business hours, and participants are asked to park in the designated parking lot instead of the street during the project.

Residents are also reminded to follow posted traffic signage, including no parking signs and detour information. A police detail will be on site assisting with traffic.

The Town of Ludlow and Ludlow DPW would like to thank residents for their cooperation and patience.
