GLOUCESTER — The Gloucester Police Department is pleased to announce that the Gloucester Community Impact Unit will be hosting its 8th annual Safety Day.
Safety Day will be held on Saturday, Sept. 27, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Harbor Loop.
This year’s event will feature several exciting activities, including a helicopter demonstration by the U.S. Coast Guard featuring rescue swimmers and a simulated car crash extrication presented by the Gloucester Fire Department.
Additionally, attendees can expect a bomb squad demonstration from the Massachusetts State Police and may tour the U.S. Coast Guard Station in Gloucester.
First-responder agencies from surrounding communities will also be present, showcasing police, fire, and other emergency response vehicles, K-9 units, and community resource dogs.
Food vendors will also be available, among other attractions.
