TEWKSBURY — Chief Ryan Columbus reports that the Tewksbury Police Department arrested and charged a Lynn man with trafficking fentanyl.
DANY MEJIA GOMEZ, AGE 18 of LYNN, was arrested and charged with the following:
- Trafficking in 100 grams or more of Fentanyl
On Wednesday, Aug. 27 as part of an ongoing investigation into narcotics distribution within Middlesex County, Tewksbury Police, with the assistance of the DEA New England Field Division Cross Border Initiative (CBI) Task Force 4, arrested MEJIA GOMEZ.
During a search of MEJIA GOMEZ’s person and vehicle, officers located over 140 grams of fentanyl.
A subsequent investigation determined that MEJIA GOMEZ did not hold the necessary paperwork to be in the United States and it was therefore determined that he was in the country illegally. The U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement has been notified.
MEJIA GOMEZ is being held at the Middlesex House of Correction and Jail in Billerica, and is scheduled to be arraigned at a later date.
