Arrangements for North Andover Firefighter Jeffrey Deschenes  

NORTH ANDOVER — Chief John Weir and Deputy Chief Graham Rowe, on behalf of the Deschenes family, are today announcing wake and funeral services for North Andover Firefighter Jeffrey Deschenes, who died last week.

The services for Firefighter Deschenes are as follows:


Wake:

Friday, June 6, 2025, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home
233 Lawrence St., Methuen

Any members of the news media who are seeking to cover the wake are asked to assemble on the sidewalk across the street from the funeral home, in front of St. Monica’s School. Note: There is NO PARKING allowed at St. Monica’s Parish or School. Media attending are asked to RSVP by contacting John Guilfoil at john@jgpr.net or 617-993-0003. 

Funeral Services:

Friday, June 6, 2025, 1 p.m.
Elmwood Cemetery
130 North Lowell St., Methuen 

The funeral service is graveside and is not open to media.

There will be a firefighter dress uniform walkthrough to begin the wake at 8:45 a.m. Firefighters will reassemble outside the funeral home at 11:30 a.m. for an honorable procession to Elmwood Cemetery. 

Firefighter Deschenes died at a local hospital after experiencing a medical emergency at home. He was 54 and is survived by his wife and two children. The cause of his death has been determined to be from a heart attack. 

Firefighter Deschenes was an extraordinarily dedicated and knowledgeable firefighter and emergency medical services expert. He began his career with the Lawrence Fire Department in 2000 and served 12 years there before transferring to North Andover in 2012. Firefighter Deschenes was assigned as North Andover’s first EMS Coordinator in 2019, and he brought the department into the forefront of pre-hospital care.
