Blue Hills Regional Technical School to Host School Choice Public Hearing on April 15

CANTON — Blue Hills Regional Technical School (BHRTS) will host a School Choice Public Hearing on Tuesday, April 15.

Blue Hills Regional Technical School is a public regional vocational technical school located in Canton. It is operated by the Blue Hills Regional Vocational School District, approved by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE), and accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges. Blue Hills Regional Technical School is committed to providing quality academic and career/technical education programs.

The Blue Hills Regional Vocational School District will conduct the public hearing on School Choice at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 15, in Room W-218 of the school at 800 Randolph St. in Canton.

Blue Hills Regional Technical School does not currently participate in the Inter-District School Choice Program. Following a presentation at the April 15 public hearing, the District School Committee is expected to vote to determine whether BHRTS will participate in School Choice for the 2025-26 school year.

Printed copies of the description and the answers to frequently asked questions (FAQ) will be available at the hearing. Following the hearing, the District School Committee is expected to conduct the business on its regular meeting schedule.

Inter-District School Choice is a state program that allows families to enroll their students in a school outside of their community’s district. Tuition is paid by the student’s home district to the accepting district. Transportation is not provided to School Choice students.
