MEDWAY — Superintendent Armand Pires and Medway High School Principal John Murray are thrilled to announce that junior Meghan Kealey recently sang the national anthem at a professional sporting event.
On Saturday, Sept. 28, Kealey performed “The Star-Spangled Banner” at the New England Revolution soccer game at Gillette Stadium against the Nashville Soccer Club. The Revolution won the game, 1-0.
Kealey, the class officer for Medway High’s Class of 2026, submitted a video audition to the Revolution as part of a contest and was chosen as a finalist. She then conducted an in-person audition at Six String Grill & Stage in Foxborough in April and was selected as the winner to sing at the Sept. 28 game.
“I was unsure about doing the audition at first, but I am so happy that I did,” Kealey said. “It led to one of the coolest experiences of my life!”
The attendance at Saturday’s game was 42,312, the fifth-largest home crowd in club history.
“There was a huge crowd at Saturday’s game and this was an incredible opportunity for Meghan to experience,” Principal Murray said. “Meghan made the Medway Public Schools community very proud!”
