The two-week course took place April 1-12. The coursework, presented by experienced academics and law enforcement practitioners, addressed contemporary management and leadership concepts relevant to the responsibilities of first-line supervisors in a criminal justice agency.

Topics covered through the course included operational leadership and management principles, problem-solving, organizational and interpersonal communication, labor relations, disciplinary issues and ethical decision-making. Graduates of the session represented police departments from throughout New England.

“Congratulations to Sgt. Saunders on his completion of this reputable training,” Chief Dunn said. “The course covers many valuable topics for supervisors in our profession, and completing this course shows a strong dedication to continuous growth and learning.”

He holds a master’s degree in criminal justice from Curry College.
