Mashpee Middle-High School Earns High Marks in U.S. News & World Report Rankings

MASHPEE — Superintendent Dr. Michele Conners is excited to announce that Mashpee Middle-High School has been named one of the top high schools on Cape Cod by U.S. News and World Report’s 2026-2027 Best U.S. High School Rankings.

Mashpee Middle-High School ranked No. 2 among Cape Cod high schools and was the highest-ranked traditional public high school on the Cape.

The school ranked 89th out of all high schools in Massachusetts, placing Mashpee among approximately the top quarter of ranked Massachusetts high schools.

Mashpee also ranked No. 2,046 nationally among nearly 18,000 ranked high schools, placing it among the top 12% of high schools in the nation.

U.S. News bases its rankings on factors such as college readiness, graduation rates, state assessment results and participation and performance in college-level coursework.

The rankings highlight several measures of student achievement and college readiness at Mashpee Middle-High School. Sixty-eight percent of students took at least one Advanced Placement exam, 43% passed at least one AP exam and the school reported a 95% graduation rate. Students also recorded a 71% proficiency rate in reading.

Mashpee Public Schools has a myriad of academic, extracurricular and enrichment programs designed to prepare students for life beyond high school.

“I’m not surprised to see Mashpee Middle-High School recognized so highly,” said Principal Bonnie Brady. “This recognition reflects what I have the privilege of seeing every day: teachers and staff who are deeply committed to their students, young people who work hard and take pride in their school and a community that genuinely cares about their success. Our students benefit from rigorous academics, meaningful opportunities beyond the classroom and educators who continually work to improve their practice and ensure students feel supported, challenged and connected. I am incredibly proud of what our students and staff accomplish together, and even more proud to serve as the principal of Mashpee Middle-High School.”

“This is something our students, staff and families should be proud of,” Superintendent Dr. Conners said. “We know what our students are capable of and what our teachers do for them every day, so it is great to see Mashpee earn this kind of recognition. That success starts well before students reach high school, with the foundation built by our educators at every grade level. Families on the Cape have choices about where their children go to school, and we want them to know that Mashpee is a place where students can get a great education, find opportunities that interest them and be part of a school community that knows them.”
