NORTH ANDOVER — Acting Police Chief Stephen Diminico and Fire Chief John Weir report that the North Andover Police and Fire Departments responded to a crash involving three vehicles on Turnpike Street Friday morning.
At approximately 8:10 a.m. on July 24, North Andover Police and Fire responded to the area of 1043 Turnpike St. for a reported motor vehicle crash.
Upon arrival, two vehicles were observed to be overturned, with the driver of one of the vehicles, a van, trapped inside.
Firefighters stabilized the van using rescue struts and removed the windshield to gain access to the driver. Firefighters safely removed the driver.
The drivers of both overturned vehicles were transported by ambulance to local hospitals with what appeared to be minor injuries.
All three vehicles were towed from the scene, and crews have since cleared the scene.
No other injuries were reported.
The Middleton Fire Department and Lawrence General Hospital Paramedic Intercept 2 provided mutual aid.
“I want to commend our fire crews and the North Andover Police Department for their quick response to this incident,” said Chief John Weir. “I also want to thank our partners at Middleton Fire Department and Lawrence General Hospital Paramedic Intercept 2 for their assistance at the scene.”
North Andover Police are investigating the crash.
