GLOUCESTER — The Gloucester Fire Department is congratulating Firefighter/Paramedic Tyler Rogers for graduating as valedictorian of his paramedic class at the Pro EMS Center for Medics.
Firefighter/Paramedic Rogers graduated from the class and earned his paramedic certification on Friday, May 5 in Cambridge. He was joined by his wife and child.
Firefighter/Paramedic Rogers is a Gloucester native and graduate of Gloucester High School. He joined the Gloucester Fire Department in 2025 after working for two years with the Amesbury Fire Department.
He is a graduate of the Massachusetts Firefighting Academy, and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics from Boston College.
Firefighter/Paramedic Rogers becomes the latest Gloucester Firefighter to earn his paramedic certification. All firefighters employed by Gloucester Fire are cross trained as both firefighters and EMTs or paramedics, with a majority of department members eventually earning the more advanced paramedic certification.
This cross training means Gloucester firefighters are exceptionally well prepared to provide both advanced medical aid and firefighting skills to the community, fulfilling their dual role with professionalism and expertise.
“I want to congratulate Firefighter/Paramedic Rogers on working his way to the top of his paramedic class,” said Chief Eric Smith. “He has been an excellent member of our department, and I am pleased to see he has built his skills to an even higher level.”
