Winthrop Police Arrest Two People After Chase

WINTHROP – The Winthrop Police Department arrested two individuals following a brief foot pursuit after the individuals fled from officers in a stolen motor vehicle.

BRIANA BOTTARI, age 34, of REVERE was arrested and charged with:

  • Receiving a Stolen Motor Vehicle
  • Use Without Authority
  • Possession of Cocaine with Intent to Distribute
  • Possession of Fentanyl with Intent to Distribute

JAMES WARNER, age 39, of BOSTON was arrested and charged with:

  • Receiving a Stolen Motor Vehicle
  • Use Without Authority

BOTTARI also was discovered to be wanted on two outstanding warrants.

On Tuesday, June 2, 2026, officers were told to be on the lookout for a stolen motor vehicle. The vehicle was observed traveling on Revere Street by a detail officer. As the officer approached the vehicle, the vehicle fled at a high rate of speed.

BOTTARI and WARNER both fled from the vehicle and were apprehended by responding officers in the area.

A search of BOTTARI and the stolen motor vehicle resulted in the recovery of suspected fentanyl and cocaine. Additionally, there were items recovered from the vehicle consistent with the street level distribution of narcotics.

These are allegations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
