DRACUT – The hard work and commitment of both students and their families were recognized Tuesday as Dracut Public Schools celebrated the inaugural Dracut High School Commitment Signing Night for student-athletes who will play in college.

Twenty-one student-athletes in the Class of 2026 are committing to play on college teams at universities as far away as the University of South Carolina at Beaufort and the University of Missouri at St. Louis.

Dracut students will move on to play soccer, baseball, field hockey, football, lacrosse, softball, swimming, track, volleyball and wrestling.

Athletic Director Tom DiGeronimo organized the event this year to give special recognition to those students and families whose dedication will see them play on as they get their higher education.

Approximately 100 people attended the event on the High School stadium field on Tuesday afternoon. O’Connor Studios was on hand to take professional portraits of each student and their family, and cupcakes and refreshments were served.

“It is important that we celebrate our kids and their accomplishments, and this is a special day to recognize the hard work that they put in, as well as the sacrifices made by families for four years – getting kids to practice, games, and travelling all over the place,” said DiGeronimo. “They deserve this recognition.”
