MAYNARD — Maynard Public Schools shares that the district is actively investigating multiple incidents of antisemitic graffiti discovered at Maynard High School over the past several days.
On Monday, May 4, multiple antisemitic symbols were found in a classroom at the high school, and on Wednesday, May 6, two additional incidents occurred. The graffiti was discovered by students and immediately reported to teachers.
The district has launched a full investigation into each occurrence in compliance with school policies and procedures. The district has also notified the Maynard Police Department and reported the incidents to the Anti-Defamation League (ADL).
“These actions are unacceptable and do not reflect the values of our school community,” said Superintendent Brian Haas. “We are taking this matter extremely seriously. Hate speech and antisemitism will not be tolerated in our schools. We are committed to fostering a safe and inclusive environment for all members of our school community.”
These incidents remain under investigation.
