Town of Acton Invites Residents to Participate in Community Survey As Part of Ongoing Fire Department Pilot Program

ACTON — Town Manager John Mangiaratti and Fire Chief Anita Arnum would like to invite residents to complete a community survey about fire and emergency medical services as part of the ongoing pilot program.

The community survey can be found here. The survey will provide important feedback to the town and the fire department about response times and overall services as a result of the ongoing pilot program.

The pilot program was launched in February and consists of temporarily consolidating personnel and apparatus into two stations, North (Station 4, 68 Harris St.) and South (Station 2, 54 School St.), and splitting the town into two nearly equal-sized districts, each served by a district fire station.

The Town of Acton used state grant funds to hire the Edward J. Collins, Jr. Center for Public Management (Collins Center) to support the ongoing examination of the current service delivery model for fire and EMS. The goal is to explore innovative approaches to increase operational efficiency across Acton and ensure that services, apparatus and personnel are being deployed into the community most effectively.

The pilot program, developed in collaboration with Acton Firefighters Local 1904, is scheduled to conclude in May. Additional details about the program can be found here

The Town of Acton and the Acton Fire Department would like to thank residents for their continued support during this program.
