GROVELAND — John Guilfoil Public Relations proudly announces that Kristen Potter, Vice President of Digital and Enterprise Accounts, has been selected as one of the leading women in marketing by a nationwide organization.
Potter received a Top Women in Marketing Award from Ragan Communications during a luncheon in New York. Ragan provides conferences, workshops, training, and leadership guidance to more than 200,000 communicators, marketers, HR professionals and business leaders across the country.
“It is truly humbling to be selected alongside so many highly accomplished women in our field,” Potter said. “I am fortunate to be surrounded by so many dedicated, talented co-workers who shine every day and who share in this recognition.”

Since joining JGPR in 2018 Potter has led marketing and public relations campaigns from coast to coast and has overseen the launch of more than 100 police, fire, school district and city/town government websites.
Her success has seen her responsibilities increase from sole website developer to leader of a five-person team devoted to the company’s website, marketing, video, graphic design, and app development efforts.
That team has won national awards from PRNEWS and American Inhouse Design Award for its work in reimagining municipal government branding and user experience, creating an innovative five-department suite of websites that redefined the Town of Groveland, Mass.
Due to her work with AccredNet, a national police accreditation organization, Kristen has created relationships with statewide organizations in Massachusetts, Florida, Rhode Island, Arizona, Arkansas and Utah. Through these connections, Kristen is leading and coordinating a web and video marketing campaign to entice public safety professionals to work in the state of Utah.
Earlier this year the team was recognized by the PR Club of New England for a Content Marketing Campaign created on behalf of the Town of Merrimac, Mass.
“Kristen is a major reason JGPR has grown from a small communications company to a full-service agency with a national and international presence,” said Owner and Principal John Guilfoil. “We are proud of her accomplishments and look forward to even greater success in the future.”
Potter lives in Groveland with her husband, Jeremy, children Brendan, Emma, and Owen. and fur-baby, Mac.
After receiving awards on stage, honorees were given a choice of prompts to answer that shed light on their work and perspectives. Potter spoke about her daughter Emma and how to communicate the challenges that may lie ahead of her.
“I try to tell her to be sure people hear her voice,” Potter said. “Don’t be afraid to be heard, be confident in what you say, and don’t ever hold back.”
