Burlington Public Library Will Return toIn-Person Operations This Month

BURLINGTON – Director Michael Wick is pleased to announce that the Burlington Public Library will resume in-person operations later this month.

Starting Monday, June 14, the Library will be open Monday-Thursday, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Appointments are no longer necessary. With Gov. Charlie Baker lifting the state’s mask requirements effective May 29, patrons do not need to wear masks while inside the Library.

“The Library’s patrons have been patient and understanding during this year of COVID-19,” Director Wick said. “Our staff has worked hard to deliver innovative services and programs. We’re happy to return to normal operations and look forward to welcoming our patrons back.”

The Library will re-open with several service limitations:

• The Library will be closed on Saturdays. Staff is working on plans to resume the traditional summer Saturday hours, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
• Meeting rooms will continue to be used for online programs and curbside services. The Library expects to return those rooms to regular public access later this year.
• Most Children’s and Young Adult programs will continue to be virtual through the summer. Residents are asked to check the Library Calendar of Events to find out which programs will be held in-person.
• Museum passes will become available in the coming weeks.

However, the Library will continue its popular curbside pickup program. Items may be picked up at the tent at the rear of the building Monday-Thursday, 10:15 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., and on Friday, 10:15 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
