COHASSET — Town Manager Christopher Senior and Cohasset Elder Affairs Director Nancy Lafauce are pleased to report that a special virtual presentation will be held in collaboration with Paul Pratt Memorial Library later this month.

“LGBTQ 101,” a virtual presentation and conversation introducing the language and labels of the modern LGBTQ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer) community and the history of how LGBTQ people identify and have been identified, will be held Wednesday, May 19 at 1 p.m.

As part of the presentation, Joan Ilacqua, from “The History Project: Documenting LGBTQ Boston,” will also share resources to learn more as friends and family, allies or members of the LGBTQ community.

Ilacqua will be available to answer questions about a variety of LGBTQ issues, including the usage of labels and pronouns.

Those interested in attending this virtual event are asked to RSVP by Monday, May 17 by calling the Cohasset Elder Affairs office at 781-383-9112 or by registering online by clicking here

“We encourage adults in the community to take part in this special presentation,” Director Lafauce said. “The Town of Cohasset prides itself on being an inclusive community for all, and having open and honest conversations such as these are important to learning about others and respecting each other’s differences.”

The presentation, a collaboration between Cohasset Elder Affairs and the Paul Pratt Memorial Library, is intended for adult audiences and is offered free of charge.
