SAUGUS — Chief Michael Ricciardelli and the Essex District Attorney’s Office report that the man who was trapped by a piece of heavy machinery Friday has died.
Mark Bertrand, 57, of Saugus, was transported to Melrose-Wakefield Hospital Friday evening where he later died of his injuries.
Saugus Police and Fire responded at approximately 5:20 p.m. Friday. Bertrand had been working on his private property when a Bobcat machine had overturned and trapped him.
Foul play is not suspected.
