RAYMOND — Superintendent Tina McCoy would like to invite parents and guardians to take a survey to determine internet and computer capabilities of homes in the district should schools need to implement online learning to reduce the risk of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) to the school communities.
The survey can be found here. Those who are unable to complete the survey online can call the main office of the school that their student(s) attend starting Monday, March 16:
- Lamprey River Elementary School: 603-895-3117
- Iber Holmes Gove Middle School: 603-895-3394
- Raymond High School: 603-895-6616
Surveys should be completed by noon on Monday, March 16. Parents should expect to receive a call from the district should they not complete the survey before the deadline.
“We are looking to determine the best course of action to not disrupt learning for our students should schools need to be closed for any period of time,” Superintendent McCoy said. “We will be able to provide families with technology support should they need it and are looking to determine that need through this survey as well.”
At this time, the New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services (NH DHHS) is reporting that there are six positive cases and one presumptive positive case of the virus in the state. There are no confirmed or presumptive cases in Raymond at this time.
The Raymond School District is closely following recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and NH DHHS to prevent the spread of the virus. Officials are also communicating with the New Hampshire Department of Education.
COVID-19 was declared a global pandemic this week by the World Health Organization and has moved Governor Charlie Baker to declare a State of Emergency in Massachusetts and President Donald Trump to declare a national emergency.
