Dighton Board of Selectmen Recognizes Garden Club For its Volunteer Efforts

DIGHTON — At the request of Chairman Kenneth Pacheco, Dighton’s volunteer Garden Club was honored by the Dighton Board of Selectmen on Wednesday, Sept. 25 and presented with a Certificate of Recognition for their extensive work in the town.

The Board of Selectmen recognized the Garden Club for their continuous efforts in maintaining the gardens at various town facilities and properties, most prominently in front of Town Hall. At the meeting, the selectmen highlighted the volunteer members’ outstanding work and dedication. Members of the Garden Club can often be seen watering and tending to plants throughout the town.

“The Garden Club does so much more than what they are being recognized for,” Selectman Nancy Goulart said. “The services they provide throughout the year ensure that all of our town facilities look their best.”

The Garden Club oversees the upkeep of the veterans memorial, plantings at Town Hall, Old Town Hall and the gazebo at Town Hall.

“I have the privilege of having a front row seat to the Garden Club’s fantastic work from my office window,” Town Administrator Mallory Aronstein said. “It’s great to see them being recognized for their community involvement and all of their hard work that makes our town beautiful.”
