Groveland Town Clerk Anne Brodie Retires
GROVELAND — Longtime Town Clerk Anne Brodie is retiring today after more than 12 years in Town Hall.
Brodie was elected Town Clerk in May 2007, and has held the post ever since. Prior to her career at Town Hall, Brodie was a school bus driver.
As town clerk, Brodie served as the official keeper of town records, which include records of births, deaths and marriages of the town’s residents as well as all town meeting minutes. The town clerk’s office also oversees all town, state and federal elections, administers the oath of office to all elected and appointed town officials and conducts the annual town census.
“I’m going to miss of a lot of the people here, and the townspeople,” Brodie said. “There are great people here, and it was an honor to serve them as their clerk all these years.”
Brodie has lived in Groveland since 1970, and in her retirement she plans on traveling, reading and spending more time with her grandchildren.
In her memories from the last 12 years, Brodie said her favorite events at Town Hall were always those put on by the Council on Aging.
“We wish Anne a healthy and happy retirement,” said Groveland Finance Director Denise Dembkoski. “She has been a pleasure to work with, and has dedicated a lot of time and energy to support the town of Groveland.”
Groveland’s newly-elected Town Clerk, Elizabeth Cunniff, will begin on Monday, May 13.
