Bridgewater Police Respond to Crash with Serious Injuries

BRIDGEWATER — Chief Christopher D. Delmonte reports that the Bridgewater Police Department responded to a motor vehicle crash involving serious injuries this morning.

At approximately 8:30 a.m. the Bridgewater Police and Fire Departments were dispatched to the intersection of Main Street and Hemlock Drive after receiving multiple 911 calls reporting a head-on collision between two vehicles.

The crash occurred after the operator of a 2004 Chevy Malibu crossed the solid double yellow lines into the path of oncoming traffic, striking a 2016 Nissan Versa head-on.

Both operators suffered serious injuries and were transported to a local hospital. The operator of the Nissan Versa, a 70-year-old Raynham man, had to be extricated from his vehicle using the Jaws of Life and was later transported to Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston.

The operator of the Chevy Malibu, a 39-year-old Bridgewater woman, will be summonsed to court on the following charges:

  • Operating a Motor Vehicle with a Suspended License
  • Negligent Operation
  • Marked Lanes Violation

This crash remains under investigation by the Bridgewater Police Department.
