Chelmsford Police Investigating Incident Where Man was Struck by Motor Vehicle

CHELMSFORD — Chief James Spinney reports that the Chelmsford Police Department, along with the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office and the Massachusetts State Police, are actively investigating an incident in which a man lying in the roadway was struck by a vehicle last night.

Chelmsford Police Investigating Incident Where Man was Struck by Motor Vehicle

CHELMSFORD — Chief James Spinney reports that the Chelmsford Police Department, along with the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office and the Massachusetts State Police, are actively investigating an incident in which a man was struck by a motor vehicle last night.

On Saturday, Jan. 28 at approximately 11:30 p.m., Chelmsford Police responded to Chelmsford Street near the Lowell/Chelmsford line for a report of a body in the roadway.

Upon arrival, officers discovered an unresponsive 54-year-old male in the roadway. Lowell Police also responded to the scene and, along with Chelmsford Police, immediately began administering first aid.

The victim was transported to an area hospital where he later died from his injuries.

The operator of the vehicle involved is cooperating with the investigation.

This incident remains under active investigation by the Chelmsford Police Department, the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office and the Massachusetts State Police.
