Three Youths Report Man Allegedly Asked Them to Get Into His Van to Play Pokémon Go

BRIDGEWATER — Police Chief Christopher D. Delmonte reports that the Bridgewater Police Department is actively seeking a person of interest in connection with a suspicious incident involving minors that occurred over the weekend.

On Saturday, Aug. 6, at approximately 6:30 p.m., officers responded to the area of Lady Slipper Road for a report of a man approaching young girls in an attempt to get them into his car.

The three girls, all 11 years old, stated that they were walking down the street when they were approached by a black minivan. The operator of the minivan asked the girls to get into his van to play the popular mobile game Pokémon Go. They refused and ran away.

The operator of the minivan is described as a slim, well-built, dark-skinned male in his 20’s with tattoos on both of his arms and chest. He was not wearing a shirt that the victims could see at the time of the incident.

The incident is under investigation by the Bridgewater Police Department.
