Newport Police Investigating Car Wash Burglary

NEWPORT, Vt. — Police Chief Seth DiSanto reports that the Newport Police Department is investigating a break-in and burglary that occurred early Tuesday morning at a local business.

Newport Police responded at 6 a.m. Tuesday to the Newport Car Wash and Mini Mart, located at 376 Clyde St. for a reported burglary. Upon arrival, officers noticed a broken glass front door leading into the business. An investigation and consultation with the business owner indicated that a quantity of merchandise had been stolen.

The incident is being actively investigated by the Newport Police Department and Officer Corey Marcoux. Chief DiSanto urges anyone who may have seen or heard anything in the area to please call Officer Marcoux at 802-334-6733.
