Firefighters responded to 46 Greenhill Road at 4:27 p.m. and observed heavy fire coming from the basement of a 2.5 story colonial.

Crews aggressively attacked the flames through the basement windows and were able to quickly knock the fire down. No one was injured.

Sudbury Fire received mutual aid from the Wayland, Marlborough and Framingham fire departments, and firefighters from Concord, Maynard and Weston provided station coverage for three Sudbury fire stations.

“Due to the rapid response by firefighters, we were able to quickly extinguish this fire and avoid any injuries,” Chief Miles said. “I would also like to thank our neighboring communities for providing mutual aid and station coverage so we could focus our efforts on putting out this fire.”

The Sudbury Fire and Police Departments are investigating the cause of the fire, which caused extensive damage to the home.
