Maynard Fire Department to Conduct Training Exercises at the Mill at Main

MAYNARD — Chief Anthony Stowers announces that the Maynard Fire Department will be conducting training exercises at the Mill at Main, formerly Clock Tower Place, in Maynard over the next few weeks.

Saracen Properties, the new property owners of the Mill at Main, have given the Maynard Fire Department permission to conduct training exercises on the property at the mill that will be torn down for site improvements.

“The spirit of cooperation by Saracen Properties is greatly appreciated. This is a tremendous and unique opportunity for our firefighters to practice their training on real building components and for our newer firefighters to gain valuable experience moving forward in their careers,” Chief Stowers said. “I want to advise residents that they shouldn’t be concerned if they see firefighters working at this site, they are just training.”

Firefighters will have the opportunity to practice forcing entry on interior doors, performing roof ventilation, breaching walls, conducting large area searches, and overhaul operations.
