Chelmsford Announces Parking Ban

Town, Police Department Encourage Residents to Stay off Roads, Allow Plows to Do Their Jobs

CHELMSFORD — Police Chief James M. Spinney and the Chelmsford Police Department are seeking to alert residents that the Town of Chelmsford has instituted a Snow Emergency and Emergency Parking Ban in advance of Winter Storm Juno and the blizzard warnings posted for the region.

The town has declared a Snow Emergency, which means a full-time parking ban will be enforced on public rights of way.

The parking ban is set to start at 6 p.m. Monday and is tentatively scheduled to run through Thursday, Jan. 29 at midnight.

This notice will also be posted on the town website and local cable television channel.

“A major winter storm is approaching, and the Chelmsford Police Department strongly urges all residents to plan their travel carefully,” Chief Spinney said. “Starting this afternoon, do not park on town roads. Give the plows and emergency vehicles all the access they need to do their jobs safely.”
