North Reading Police Seeking Suspects in Restaurant Breaking and Entering

NORTH READING — Chief Michael P. Murphy reports that the North Reading Police Department is seeking two suspects in connection with a recent breaking and entering into a Chinese restaurant.

The break-in took place during the overnight hours on Monday, Dec.15, 2014 at the Ginger Gourmet Chinese Restaurant, located at 265 Main St.

Two suspects appear on the surveillance system inside the establishment. They both appear to be white males, one slender and one with a heavy build. The heavier male appears to have a mustache. The smaller male is observed wearing a NorthFace jacket with the NorthFace emblem on the top rear of the right shoulder. The slender male is also wearing black and white sneakers with black colored shoelaces.

In what appeared to be an operation conducted by burglars with some degree of experience, the suspects used a pry bar to force entry at approximately 1:37 a.m. The alarm system was found to be compromised.

The suspects entered the establishment a short time later. The heavier male appeared to be experienced with alarm systems, while the slender suspect appeared to be acting as the lookout.

The suspects fled with money from the restaurant’s cash registers.

Police are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the two men seen in the surveillance footage. Anyone who may recognize the men in the surveillance footage is asked to call North Reading Police at 978-357-5046. All calls may remain anonymous.
