Arlington Public Schools Vehicle Involved in Crash This Afternoon

No Children Aboard, Driver Not Seriously Injured

An Arlington Public Schools sport utility vehicle was driving from Lexington to Arlington via Route 2A this afternoon, when it was struck by another vehicle around 12:10 p.m. Thursday. The crash caused the Arlington vehicle to exit the roadway and crash into a building on Lowell Street in Lexington.

Two Arlington Public Schools bus drivers were aboard, one driving and one as a passenger, at the time. Both were taken to an area hospital for examination, but they were not seriously harmed.

There were no children aboard at the time. The vehicle was driving through Lexington on an errand to pick up up replacement parts for a school bus when the crash occurred.

“We are grateful that our drivers appear to be OK and were not more seriously injured,” Superintendent Kathleen Bodie said. “Arlington Public Schools will fully cooperate with Lexington Police in their investigation.”
