Statement of Winchester Police Chief Kenneth C. Albertelli

Note: Some news reporters have inquired about a police investigation in Winchester. The Middlesex District Attorney’s Office has jurisdiction over unattended deaths in the county, so the Winchester Police Department is not able to comment more directly on the case at this time.

WINCHESTER — Police Chief Kenneth C. Albertelli issues the following statement:

“At 9 a.m. today, Winchester Police conducted a well-being check at a home on Swanton St. Upon arrival, officers found the body elderly female inside the home. The Winchester Police Department is working closely with the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office, which has authority over unattended deaths in the county. This is an active and ongoing investigation, but at this time, we do not believe that this was a random act.”
