NORTH READING — Police Chief Michael P. Murphy announces a 40-year veteran of the North Reading Police Department retired on Sunday.
Officer Roger Wulleman joined the North Reading Police Department on July 10, 1974 and officially retired on Sunday, Oct. 5, 2014 after more than four decades.
“Officer Wulleman personifies the dedication that a police officer shows to his or her community,” Chief Murphy said. “He has given the people of North Reading 40 years of service, and I wish him all the best for a long, well-deserved retirement.”
Officer Wulleman served as the department’s Firearms Licensing Officer for many years. He is retiring to Maine with his wife Gwen.
Current and retired members of the North Reading Police Department gathered on Sunday to give Officer Wulleman a proper sendoff. They presented him with several mementos, including a framed North Reading Police badge and patch with a Massachusetts police license plate.
