Arlington Police Investigating Armed Robbery near Thorndike Field
ARLINGTON — Police Chief Frederick Ryan and the Arlington Police Department are asking for the public’s assistance after a man reported that he was robbed at knife-point on the bicycle path near Thorndike Field last night.
The victim told police that he was walking from the Alewife MBTA station, entering Thorndike Field near the parking lot when he was jumped by two men wearing masks. One of them was armed with a knife. The suspects took the victim’s backpack,which contained his laptop and several books.
The incident occurred 9:39 p.m. Wednesday evening. Arlington Police immediately notified Cambridge Police and the MBTA Transit Police.
Anyone who was in the area and may have seen something, or anyone with any information about this robbery is urged to call Arlington Police at 781-643-1212. Your call may remain anonymous.
