WOBURN — Police Chief Robert J. Ferullo Jr. is pleased to announce that the Woburn Police Department Running team earned third place honors and one of its officers won the law enforcement division at the annual Boston’s Run to Remember Half Marathon on May 25.

The seven members of the Woburn team entered the race as part of the Run to Remember’s Law Enforcement Challenge, pitting teams of full-time sworn police officers against each other in competition for their charity of choice.
For third place, the Woburn team received trophies, running sneakers from New Balance, and a check for $1500 from the Boston Police Running Club, adding to Woburn PD’s $500 raised for the Woburn Council of Social Concern Food Pantry for a total of $2,000 raised for the Food Pantry.. The awards and check were presented at a ceremony at the Woburn Police Department on July 18.
“I am proud of our Woburn Police Running Team for their terrific performance in May,” Chief Ferullo said. “They represented our City well at this amazing race, and they helped raise much-needed funds for the food pantry.”
Additionally, Woburn Police Officer Ian Hunt came in first place in the law enforcement division, putting up an impressive time of 1:24:33 for the 13.1 mile road race.
