Bedford Police Offer Three Methods for Submitting Anonymous Tips
Website, Facebook, and Smartphone App Options Available for Residents, Students, and Visitors
Bedford Police Chief Robert Bongiorno would like to spread the word about a free, secure, anonymous service that the police department provides to residents and students who have witnessed or may have been the victims of a crime, bullying, harassment, or hate.
Anyone can submit anonymous or signed Crime Tips to the Bedford Police via three methods:
- Our website, bedfordpd.org, on the left hand side where it says “Crime Tips.”
- The BPD Facebook Page at facebook.com/bedfordpd by pressing “Crime Tips” under heading
- By downloading our Smartphone App for the iPhone or the Android by searching for “MYPD” or “My Police Department” in the respective App Stores.
“We always encourage people to come forward or call police if they see something or if something happens to them, but we are mindful that they may be factors preventing that from happening,” Chief Bongiorno said. “That’s why we offer an anonymous service on our website, and through the MyPD App for iPhone and Android devices. No one should ever have to hesitate about reporting any wrongdoing.”
The MyPD App, launched in Bedford last year, includes features for checking on the latest news, social media postings, directions, department contacts, submitting feedback & questions, department surveys, as well as submitting crime tips.
The app is available to the public free of charge.
Bedford police are posting flyers with this information in Bedford Public Schools as well, to remind students about the resources available to them.
